St. Thomas blows out Lambton Shores, 4-0The Shores Recreation Centre Sat, Oct 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Thomas Stars were firing on all cylinders against the Lambton Shores Predators, and when the final buzzer sounded Stars emerged with a 4-0 win. St. Thomas' penalty kill excelled, as the Stars gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. St. Thomas was led by Chris Carreiro, who finished with one goal. Carreiro scored 1:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Thomas. The Stars stifled Lambton Shores' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Thomas kept the Predators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Fazio made 33 saves on 37 shots. St. Thomas also had goals scored by Mike Worby, who had one and Brett Van Dusen, who had two. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Cam Garrow, Gus Ford, Luc Knight, Avery Antone, Tyler Beaulieau, and Matt Simsons, who each chipped in one. Lambton Shores stifled the Stars' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Predators did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Lambton Shores averages 2.4 goals per game. Riley Brown recorded 21 saves for St. Thomas. The Stars incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. St. Thomas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Micheal Woolley was ejected from the game. The Predators incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
