Ancaster survives Fort Erie comeback, wins 4-2

The Fort Erie Meteors tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Ancaster Avalanche would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

Ancaster took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Fort Erie storm back on a Jesse Pereira goal 2:57 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Avalanche's offense rang up 35 shots on the Meteors' net.

Ancaster was led by Cole Nagy, who tallied three goals. Ryan Lewis also scored for Ancaster. Other players who recorded assists for Ancaster were Harrison Domagala, who had two and Eric Eustace, Jake Bain, Blake Luscombe, Hayden Guitard, Ryan Knill, and Marcus Baird, who each chipped in one.

The Avalanche were unable to stop Fort Erie from sending pucks towards the net, and the Meteors eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Fort Erie also got points from Nik Passero, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Fort Erie came via Braden Kavaratzis, Carson Johnstone, and Sam Quaranta, who contributed one a piece.

Ancaster's Braydon Banitsiotis stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Avalanche incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Connor Visca recorded 31 saves for Fort Erie. The Meteors incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
