Kitchener wins tough contest against Brampton, 3-2Victoria Park Arena Fri, Oct 04, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kitchener Dutchmen and the Brampton Bombers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Kitchener made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Kyle Ellis secured the win for the Dutchmen with a goal in the third period. Kitchener was led by Ellis, who registered one goal. Ellis scored on the power play 7:44 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Kitchener. Brett Clampitt picked up the assist. The Dutchmen forced Brampton goalie Scott Patton to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Kitchener also got points from Clampitt, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Keli Grant, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Kitchener were Clayton Greer and John Divo, who contributed one a piece. The Bombers were helped by Francois Cote, who tallied one goal. Cote scored 2:05 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Brandon Stapley provided the assist. Brampton also got a goal from Tyler Simmons as well. More assists for Brampton came via Mark Shoemaker, Connor Andersen, and Greg Wilson, who each chipped in one. Kitchener's Marc Williams stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Dutchmen incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Patton rejected 30 shots on goal for Brampton. The Bombers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
