Ancaster wins tough contest against Buffalo, 3-2Buffalo State College Arena Tue, Oct 01, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Ancaster Avalanche and the Buffalo Regals was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Ancaster emerged with a 3-2 win. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Ryan Lewis at 13:23 of the third period. Zach Niemanen was all over the ice for the Avalanche, as he had two goals in the win. Niemanen's tallies came on the power play at 10:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 4:42 into the second to make the score 2-1 Ancaster. Ancaster stifled Buffalo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Regals were unable to stop the Avalanche from sending pucks towards the net, and Ancaster eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Other players who recorded assists for Ancaster were Harrison Domagala, who had one and Max Balinson and Christopher Klack, who each chipped in two. Buffalo kept the Avalanche's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jeremy Currie made 34 saves on 36 shots. The Regals were led by Christopher Moses, who racked up one goal and one assist. Moses scored 7:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo. Luke Meyer provided the assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Ddomonic Gruttadauria AP as well. Ancaster incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ian Sylves *AP rejected 28 shots on goal for Buffalo. The Regals incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
