Christian DiFonzo gave the Welland Jr. Canadians a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Fort Erie Meteors when he scored 2:14 into the extra period.

Welland was sparked by DiFonzo, who grabbed one goal.

The Jr. Canadians were held back by their power play unit, which tallied two goals on 11 chances.

Welland additionally got points from Adam Mataya, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Jack Fitzgerald, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Matt Cuglietta, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Welland came via Matthew Mateljan, who had two and Patrick Desjardins, Damien Lalonde, and Tyler Stranges, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Canadians ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tanner Allen was ejected from the game. Josh Rosettani made 26 saves for the Meteors on 30 shots. Fort Erie registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Meteors, DeMarco and Sam Quaranta were ejected from the contest.
