The Sarnia Legionnaires' Hayden Allen scored 1:07 into overtime to beat the Chatham Maroons, 5-4 (OT). Sarnia got the win behind a great game by Jordan Fogarty, who had two goals and one assist. Fogarty scored the first of his two goals at 1:48 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Sarnia. Josh Kestner provided the assist. Fogarty's next tally made the score 4-4 with 15:37 left in the third period. Allen assisted on the tally. The Legionnaires stifled Chatham's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Sarnia additionally got points from Ryan Vendramin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Allen, who also had one goal and one assist. Nathan Mater also scored for Sarnia. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Riley Babkirk, who had one. The Maroons put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Sarnia to score on any of its four power plays. Chatham kept the Legionnaires' goalie busy throughout the game, and Sean Parker made 33 saves on 37 shots. The Maroons were led by Eric Palazzolo, who finished with one goal and one assist. Palazzolo scored 3:55 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Trevor Richardson picked up the assist. Chatham also got points from Kyle Brothers, who also registered one goal and one assist and Brayden Hopkins, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Chatham also got a goal from Michael Verboom as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Ian Faubert, who had one and Hayden Verbeek, who had two. Sarnia incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Chatham's Darien Ekblad stopped 21 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Maroons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
