Huge game by Cimino boosts Waterloo over Brantford, 6-3

Eric Cimino was all over the ice for the Waterloo Siskins, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Waterloo's 6-3 win over the Brantford 99ers.

Cimino found the back of the net on the power play 1:06 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while on the power play 4:02 into the second to make the score 3-2 Waterloo.

The Siskins' offense rang up 49 shots on Brantford's net. Waterloo found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. The Siskins got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Waterloo also got points from Michael Mantenuto, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Ryan Taylor, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Evan Kearns also scored for Waterloo. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Christian Mroczkowski, who had two and Travis Harvey, Thomas Carey, and Dalton Hnatko, who contributed one a piece.

The 99ers were helped by Mitch Atkins, who tallied two goals and one assist. Atkins scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 19:17 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brantford. Brantford had taken the advantage when Waterloo's Connor Bodnar got sent off for hooking. Nathan Bastian picked up the assist. Atkins' next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 9:32 left in the third period. The 99ers had gotten the advantage when the Siskins' Mroczkowski was sent off for slashing. Bastian provided the assist. Brantford additionally got points from Guy Polillo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Brantford came via Kevin Fitzpatrick, who had one.

Ryan Hergott made 26 saves for Waterloo on 29 shots. The Siskins registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. Marcus Del Conte rejected 43 shots on goal for Brantford. The 99ers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
