Behind a great game by Connor Murphy, who had one goal and four assists, the Caledonia Corvairs defeated the Buffalo Regals, 12-2. Murphy beat Ian Sylves *AP with a shot 7:55 into the first period short handed to make the score 5-0 Caledonia. Caledonia played down a man on Brett Dykstra's checking from behind. Spencer Gourlay assisted on the tally. Murphy dished an assist on Todd Ratchford's goal that made the score 2-0 Caledonia at 1:15 into the first period. He then added assists on Connor Patton's goal at 3:24 into the first, on Gourlay's goal at 7:35 into the first, and on Patton's goal at 15:33 into the first.The Corvairs were often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 43 minutes in penalty time. Caledonia had been averaging 38.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Corvairs made Buffalo's goaltenders to work between the pipes, totaling 62 shots and forcing 50 saves. Sylves *AP made 13 stops and Matthew Goss made 37. Caledonia surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Corvairs average 6.8 goals per game. Caledonia also got points from Gourlay, who also had one goal and two assists, Brooker Muir, who also grabbed one goal and four assists, and Jeffrey Marlott, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Caledonia included Cosimo Fontana, who had two and Steven Comegna and Mitch Brown, who scored one goal each. More assists for Caledonia came via Jake Brown, who had one and Justin Abraham, Kyler Nixon, and Matt Quilty, who contributed three a piece. The Regals forced Corvairs' netminders to work without much rest, launching 31 shots and forcing 29 saves. Colin Furlong made three stops and Curtis DOrtenzo made 26. Buffalo had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 11 chances. Caledonia registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Team's Gourlay and Dykstra were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Regals incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
