Williams, Kitchener blank Waterloo, 4-0

Marc Williams recorded a shutout against the Waterloo Siskins as the Kitchener Dutchmen picked up a 4-0 win.

Kitchener was paced by Logan Schmidt, who finished with one goal. Schmidt scored 12:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kitchener. Keegan Calder picked up the assist.

The Dutchmen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Waterloo to score on any of its four power plays. Kitchener's defense was surprisingly good. The Dutchmen gives up 2.2 goals on average per game. The defensemen of Kitchener were also effective in the Siskins' zone, and came away with three goals.

Kitchener additionally got points from John Divo, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Dylan Bursey also scored for Kitchener. More assists for Kitchener came via Keli Grant, who had two and Mitchell Smith and Connor Cole(APM), who contributed one a piece.

Waterloo was held below its usual level of production. The Siskins average 3.8 goals per game. Waterloo kept the Dutchmen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Williams made 34 saves on 34 shots.

Kitchener incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Leo Lazarev rejected 24 shots on goal for the Siskins. Waterloo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
