The Kitchener Dutchmen tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Elmira Sugar Kings would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1. Elmira took a 2-0 lead during the third period, only to have Kitchener storm back on a Dylan Bursey goal 18:31 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Sugar Kings were led by goalie Hayden Neuman, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Elmira was paced by Felix Lantaigne, who had one goal. Lantaigne scored 13:57 into the third period to make the score Elmira. Brodie Whitehead provided the assist. The Sugar Kings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Dutchmen to score on any of their four power plays. Elmira's offense rang up 34 shots on Kitchener's net. Elmira additionally got points from Whitehead, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Elmira received assists from Pat McKelvie(APJ) and Zac Coulter, who each chipped in one. The Dutchmen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Other players who recorded assists for Kitchener were Kyle Ellis and Keli Grant, who contributed one a piece. The Sugar Kings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Marc Williams rejected 32 shots on goal for Kitchener. The Dutchmen incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. For Kitchener, Adam Kawelic(APM) was ejected from the game.
