The Chatham Maroons tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Strathroy Rockets held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Wes Baker put Strathroy up 4-2 in the third period, but Chatham pulled to within one on Connor Annett's tally 15:43 into the third period.

Baker had two goals to lead the Rockets to victory.

Strathroy's offense rang up 31 shots on the Maroons' net.

Strathroy additionally got points from Brett Dalton, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Jack Kilgour as well. More assists for Strathroy came via Shawn Grogan, Tony Belony, Chase Thornton, and Colin Hartwick, who each chipped in one.

Chatham excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Maroons did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Chatham averages 7.0 goals per game. The Maroons kept the Rockets' goalie busy throughout the game, and PJ Bridges made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Chatham was helped by Ian Faubert, who had one goal. Faubert scored 8:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Chatham. Connor Doran provided the assist. Michael Verboom also scored for Chatham. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Nate Pietens, who had two and Eric Palazzolo and Matthew Kenney, who contributed one a piece.

Strathroy incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Rockets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nick Boyer was ejected from the game. Brendan Johnston recorded 27 saves for the Maroons. Chatham incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Maroons, Steven Szekesy was ejected from the game.
