Listowel wins tough contest against Brampton, 3-2Victoria Park Arena Sun, Sep 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Listowel Cyclones gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Brampton Bombers. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Kevin Gergley secured the win for Listowel with a goal in the third period. Jonathan Langford had two goals to lead the Cyclones to victory. Langford found the back of the net on the power play 13:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Listowel and again while 8:33 into the second to make the score 2-1 Listowel. Listowel kept Brampton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bryan Raymond made 29 saves on 32 shots. In addition, Listowel received assists from Scott Pawson, who had two and Mac Nichol, Dylan Sayles, and Tim Nauta, who contributed one a piece. The Bombers were helped by Brett Bloor, who grabbed one goal. Bloor scored 13:23 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Brad Sheppard picked up the assist. Brampton also got a goal from Josh Villaflor as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Owen Burry and Reid Jackman, who each chipped in one. The Cyclones' Tanner Topham stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Listowel incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brampton incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Bombers, Jackman was ejected from the game. |
