Cambridge downs Kitchener, 5-2

The Cambridge Winter Hawks took home the 5-2 victory over the Kitchener Dutchmen.

Cambridge's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kitchener power plays.

The Winter Hawks were helped by Hudson Michaelis, who finished with one goal and one assist. Michaelis scored 12:40 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cambridge. Eric Hackborn assisted on the tally. Cambridge also got points from Adam Dauda, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tyler Peters, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Cambridge also got a goal from Jake Moggy as well. In addition, Cambridge received assists from Brandon Verasamy, Maxime Lamontagne, and Alex Bottigoni, who each chipped in one.

Kitchener forced Cambridge goalie Jacob Keogh to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

The Dutchmen were led by Philip Moser, who had one goal. Moser scored 10:53 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Cambridge. Jordan Delaurier provided the assist. Keli Grant also scored for Kitchener. More assists for Kitchener came via Mitchell Smith and Jacob Cascagnette, who contributed one a piece.

The Winter Hawks' Keogh stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Cambridge incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Marc Williams recorded 23 saves for Kitchener. The Dutchmen incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
