Shaw leads Leamington over St. Thomas, 6-0

Behind a great game by Kyle Shaw, who had two goals and one assist, the Leamington Flyers defeated the St. Thomas Stars, 6-0.

Shaw scored at 15:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington and again while 15:54 into the first to make the score 2-0 Leamington.

Leamington stifled St. Thomas' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Flyers kept the Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Brown made 39 saves on 45 shots.

Leamington also got points from Dylan Seguin, who also racked up two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Leamington also got a goal from David Dalby as well. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were Tony Spidalieri, who had two, Chris Scott, who had three, and Ryan Muzzin, Blaine Bechard, Nicklas Pleshakov, and Jared Dennis, who contributed one a piece.

St. Thomas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Trevor Wheaton recorded 20 saves for Leamington. The Flyers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Stars incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
