Caledonia boosted by Furlong's play in net, beats St. Catharines 2-1

The Caledonia Corvairs relied on the sparkling performance of Colin Furlong in net to grab a 2-1 win against the St. Catharines Falcons.

Caledonia's penalty kill excelled, as the Corvairs gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays.

Caledonia was sparked by Matt Quilty, who racked up one goal. Quilty scored 18:32 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Caledonia. Connor Patton provided the assist.

Caledonia additionally got points from Patton, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Connor Murphy, who had one and Kyler Nixon, who had two.

St. Catharines was led by Yanni Rallis, who scored the team's only goal. Rallis scored on the power play 14:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines. The Falcons had taken the advantage when the Corvairs' JC Thivienge got sent off for interference. Mark Rodgers picked up the assist.

Caledonia's Furlong stopped 28 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Corvairs incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. Caledonia ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Moran was ejected from the game. Jonathon D Ilario rejected 24 shots on goal for St. Catharines. The Falcons incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
