Brantford beats Brampton 4-3 after comeback scareVictoria Park Arena Fri, Sep 06, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brantford 99ers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Brampton Bombers on the way to a 4-3 win. A goal by Guy Polillo put Brantford up 4-0 in the second period, but Brampton pulled to within one on Andrew Fedorowich's tally 15:02 into the third period. Polillo had a great game for the 99ers, netting two goals. Brantford stifled the Bombers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 99ers' offense rang up 38 shots on Brampton's net. Brantford also got points from Mitch Atkins, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Brantford also got a goal from Luc Hartholt as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brantford were Joel Pottruff, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Austin Richardson, Nathan Bastian, and Keegan Alvestad, who each chipped in one. The Bombers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brantford to score on any of its four power plays. Brampton also had goals scored by Owen Burry and Brad Bollert, who scored one goal each. In addition, Brampton received assists from Francois Cote, who had one and Mark Shoemaker and Brad Sheppard, who each chipped in two. Andre Keire rejected 20 shots on goal for the 99ers. Brantford incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Bryan Raymond recorded 34 saves for Brampton. The Bombers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
