Gloucester rolls over Nepean, 10-1

The Gloucester Rangers were firing on all cylinders against the Nepean Raiders, and when the final buzzer sounded Rangers emerged with a 10-1 win.

Andrew Burke was all over the ice for Gloucester, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Burke scored the first of his two goals at 49 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. William Brown provided the assist. Burke's next tally made the score 3-1 Gloucester with 10:33 left in the first period. Branden Makara assisted on the tally.

The Rangers forced Raiders' goaltenders to work in net, launching 46 shots and forcing 36 saves. Jack Ondrovic made 18 stops and Reilly Tondreau made 18.

Gloucester also got points from Ethon MacLean, who also had one goal and one assist, Terry Mallon, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Sebastien Plante, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Gloucester included Danny Plourde, who had one and Jeremy MacFarlane and Jordan Stouros, who each put in two. More assists for Gloucester came via Matt Foget, who had four and Sean Bakker, Sam Dudly, and Antonio Micucci, who each chipped in one.

Nepean found itself short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

The Raiders were led by Joey Fargo, who scored the team's only goal. Fargo scored 5:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Braden Zvonarich picked up the assist.

Gloucester's starting goalie, Doug Johnston, made four saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Danick Boisvert, who stopped 11 shots. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nepean registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
