In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Tulsa Oilers escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Missouri Mavericks.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Todd Robinson's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Tulsa got the win with help from a great game by Michel Beausoleil, who had one goal and two assists. Beausoleil scored 19:57 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Tulsa. Nathan Lutz provided the assist.

The Oilers pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 10 penalty minutes.

With 30 shots on target during the contest, Tulsa exceeded the 23.2 shots it averages per game this year. The Oilers' defensemen were a huge part of the offense, scoring two goals and taking 15 shots.

Tulsa additionally got points from Scott Macaulay, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Tulsa also had goals scored by Eric Tallent and Steve Mele, who scored one goal each. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Chapen Leblond and Craig Cescon, who contributed one each.
