The Brampton Beast's Jason Pitton scored 1:20 into overtime to beat the Quad City Mallards, 4-3 (OT). Brampton overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Beast was down 3-1 after a goal by Quad City's Gergo Nagy at 15:51 in the first period. Brampton tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Matt Caruana at 8:36 in the third period. The Beast were led by Pitton, who grabbed one goal. Brampton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Beast's defensemen bolstered Brampton's offensive attack, as they bombarded Thomas Heemskerk with 13 shots. The Beast's offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.1 shots per game they average. Brampton additionally got points from Caruana, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Calin Wild, who also had one goal and one assist. Brampton also got a goal from Brent Vandehogen as well.
