The Brampton Beast's Jason Pitton scored 1:20 into overtime to beat the Quad City Mallards, 4-3 (OT).

Brampton overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Beast was down 3-1 after a goal by Quad City's Gergo Nagy at 15:51 in the first period. Brampton tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Matt Caruana at 8:36 in the third period.

The Beast were led by Pitton, who grabbed one goal.

Brampton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Beast's defensemen bolstered Brampton's offensive attack, as they bombarded Thomas Heemskerk with 13 shots. The Beast's offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.1 shots per game they average.

Brampton additionally got points from Caruana, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Calin Wild, who also had one goal and one assist. Brampton also got a goal from Brent Vandehogen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Rob Collins, who had two and Dan Milan, Erik Spady, Josh McQuade, and Jamie VanderVeeken, who each chipped in one.

Quad City also had goals scored by Vladimir Nikiforov and Jeff Lee, who scored one goal each. In addition, Quad City received assists from Tyler Yaworski, Michael Monfredo, Nicolas Rioux, Matt Duffy, and Jim McKenzie, who contributed one a piece.

Brampton's Grant Rollheiser stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Beast totaled 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Heemskerk rejected 28 shots on goal for the Mallards. Quad City ended with 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors.
