Shawville Pontiacs vanquishes Arnprior Packers in shootout, 5-4 (3-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Shawville Pontiacs defeated Arnprior Packers in a shootout 5-4 (3-1 SO).

The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout. Arnprior Packers' shootout goal was scored by Patrick McGrath. In addition to the clincher, Shawville Pontiacs got shootout goals from Mathew Labrosse and Julian Dumont.

Shawville Pontiacs came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Shawville Pontiacs was down 3-1 after a goal by Arnprior Packers' Damian Armstrong at 3:37 in the third period. Shawville Pontiacs knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by McGrath at 19:44 in the third period.

Shawville Pontiacs was led by Dylan McNamara, who tallied one goal. McNamara scored 14:15 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Anthony Rea picked up the assist.

Shawville Pontiacs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Arnprior Packers to score on any of its four power plays.

Shawville Pontiacs additionally got points from Rea, who also registered one goal and one assist, Lucas Driscoll-McKinnon, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Liam Poirier, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Shawville Pontiacs came via Dumont, who had two and Guillaume Coovi-Sirois and Danick Genest, who each chipped in one.

Arnprior Packers also got points from Armstrong, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Nick Wysman also scored for Arnprior Packers. Other players who recorded assists for Arnprior Packers were Jake Gaudet and Kurtis Keohane, who contributed one a piece.

Danick Boisvert recorded 22 saves for Shawville Pontiacs. Shawville Pontiacs totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Shawville Pontiacs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cody Janes was ejected from the game. Erik Miksik made 20 saves for Arnprior Packers on 24 shots. Arnprior Packers ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For Arnprior Packers, James Prebble was ejected from the game.
