Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Renfrew Timberwolves defeated Perth Blue Wings in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO). The shootout lasted for three attempts between the teams. Perth Blue Wings' shootout goal was scored by Andrew Dodson. In addition to the clincher, Renfrew Timberwolves got a shootout goal from Scott Conroy.Renfrew Timberwolves pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. In a losing effort, Perth Blue Wings was sparked by Jimmy Pearson, who had two goals. Pearson scored the first of his two goals short handed at 1:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Perth Blue Wings. A cross checking call on Austin Lamont put Perth Blue Wings on the penalty kill. Pearson's next tally short handed made the score 3-3 with one second1 seconds left in the second period. Perth Blue Wings was on a disadvantage when Kyle Dowdall went off the ice for interference. Bradley Stitt assisted on the tally. Renfrew Timberwolves' offense rang up 33 shots on Perth Blue Wings' net. Renfrew Timberwolves was helped by Luke Lapierre, who racked up one goal. Lapierre scored 1:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Renfrew Timberwolves. Renfrew Timberwolves also had goals scored by Tanner Smith and Matt McIntyre, who each put in one. Renfrew Timberwolves' starting goalie, Matt Gagne, made 18 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Mitchell Knight, who stopped four shots. Renfrew Timberwolves registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Perth Blue Wings' Cam Lerner stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Perth Blue Wings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Perth Blue Wings, Blair Barr was ejected from the game.
