Shawville Pontiacs falls to Renfrew Timberwolves in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

Troy Taylor gave Renfrew Timberwolves a 6-5 (OT) victory over Shawville Pontiacs when he scored 2:08 into the extra period.

Shawville Pontiacs was unable to stop Renfrew Timberwolves from sending pucks towards the net, and Renfrew Timberwolves eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Renfrew Timberwolves struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 31 penalty minutes for 11 opposing power plays.

Renfrew Timberwolves was led by Scott Conroy, who racked up three goals and one assist. Luke Lapierre also scored for Renfrew Timberwolves. More assists for Renfrew Timberwolves came via Teddy Suckow, Tanner Smith, and Sean Kyte, who contributed one a piece and Nolan Rook and Bailey Hein, who each chipped in two.

Shawville Pontiacs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Renfrew Timberwolves power plays. Shawville Pontiacs forced Renfrew Timberwolves goalie Mitchell Knight to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. Shawville Pontiacs' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Shawville Pontiacs was led by Anthony Rea, who had two goals. Rea scored the first of his two goals at 5:35 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Renfrew Timberwolves. Christopher Bones picked up the assist. Rea's next tally made the score 4-3 Renfrew Timberwolves with 13:07 left in the second period. A slashing penalty on Colin Bradbury had put Shawville Pontiacs on the power play. Liam Poirier provided the assist. Shawville Pontiacs additionally got points from Julian Dumont, who also registered one goal and one assist. Shawville Pontiacs also had goals scored by Danick Genest and Alexandre Larocque, who scored one goal each. In addition, Shawville Pontiacs received assists from Lucas Driscoll-McKinnon, who had three and Dylan Scott, Guillaume Coovi-Sirois, and Dylan McNamara, who contributed one a piece.

Mitchell Knight made 39 saves for Renfrew Timberwolves on 44 shots. Team's Suckow, Dylan Zavitskie, and Ryan Patrick were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Shawville Pontiacs' Trevor McGee stopped 31 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Shawville Pontiacs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
