Ottawa Canadians survived a determined comeback attempt by Metcalfe Jets on the way to a 4-2 win.

Ottawa Canadians made the score 4-1 on a goal by Casey Doner at 1:36 in the third period, and Metcalfe Jets got as close as 4-2 when Nathan Avery scored 10:25 into the third period.

Jamie Molinski had a great game for Ottawa Canadians, netting two goals. Molinski found the back of the net 4:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa Canadians and again while 10:59 into the second to make the score 3-1 Ottawa Canadians.

Ottawa Canadians put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Metcalfe Jets to score on any of its four power plays. Ottawa Canadians forced Metcalfe Jets goalie Dylan BrindAmour to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

In addition, Ottawa Canadians received assists from Mitch Parker and Tom Kesheshian, who contributed one a piece and Nick Martin, Chad Millett, and Stephen Fullum, who each chipped in two.

Metcalfe Jets managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Metcalfe Jets finished below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Metcalfe Jets' offense rang up 38 shots on Ottawa Canadians' net.

Metcalfe Jets was helped by Elias Rizk, who finished with one goal. Rizk scored 11:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Avery picked up the assist. Metcalfe Jets additionally got points from Avery, who also registered one goal and one assist.
