Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Renfrew Timberwolves defeated Gatineau Mustangs in a shootout 6-5 (2-1 SO).

Renfrew Timberwolves came back from a five-goal deficit to capture the victory. Renfrew Timberwolves trailed 5-0 after a goal by Gatineau Mustangs' Benoît Lavigne at 7:52 in the first period. Renfrew Timberwolves knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Colin Bradbury at 18:13 in the third period.

Renfrew Timberwolves got the win on the strength of a great game by Kyte, who had two goals and one assist. Kyte scored the first of his two goals at 13:36 into the first period to make the score 5-1 Gatineau Mustangs. Scott Conroy provided the assist. Kyte's next tally made the score 5-4 Gatineau Mustangs with 3:40 left in the third period. Renfrew Timberwolves had gotten the advantage when Gatineau Mustangs' Jacob Osborne was sent off for slashing. Bradbury picked up the assist.
