Rienhardt stymies Shawville Pontiacs, Ottawa Canadians wins 4-1

Drew Rienhardt had a standout game with 33 saves, and Ottawa Canadians beat Shawville Pontiacs 4-1.

Ottawa Canadians pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 34 penalty minutes.

Ottawa Canadians was led by Colton Pickett, who registered one goal. Pickett scored 15:02 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa Canadians. Mitch Robertson picked up the assist.

Ottawa Canadians kept Shawville Pontiacs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Danick Boisvert made 37 saves on 41 shots. The defense for Ottawa Canadians tightened up when it had players in the penalty box, as it let in one goal on 11 Shawville Pontiacs power plays.

Ottawa Canadians also had goals scored by Jamie Molinski, Josh Hartley, and Stephen Fullum, who each put in one. In addition, Ottawa Canadians received assists from Jeremie Xatruch, who had two and Luke Gagnon, Ben Hartley, and Tom Kesheshian, who each chipped in one.

Shawville Pontiacs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Shawville Pontiacs could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Shawville Pontiacs averages 4.1 goals per game. Ottawa Canadians was unable to stop Shawville Pontiacs from sending pucks towards the net, and Shawville Pontiacs eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Shawville Pontiacs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.
