Renfrew Timberwolves had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over Almonte Thunder.

Renfrew Timberwolves was paced by Pat Dick, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Dick scored 6:20 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Renfrew Timberwolves. Tyler MacDonald assisted on the tally.

In the losing effort, Almonte Thunder was led by Andrew Rowbotham, who tallied two goals. Rowbotham scored the first of his two goals at 1:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Almonte Thunder. Liam Killeen picked up the assist. Rowbotham's next tally made the score 2-1 Almonte Thunder with 13:25 left in the first period. Luke Martin provided the assist.

Renfrew Timberwolves forced Almonte Thunder's netminders to work in net, taking 54 shots and forcing 48 saves. Richard Barr made 36 stops and Alex Daley made 12. Renfrew Timberwolves put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Almonte Thunder to score on any of its five power plays.

Renfrew Timberwolves additionally got points from Sean Kyte, who also registered one goal and one assist and Scott Conroy, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Renfrew Timberwolves also had goals scored by Michael Minns, Kurtis Leclaire, and Luke Lapierre, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Renfrew Timberwolves were Tanner Smith and Bailey Hein, who contributed one a piece.

Almonte Thunder's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Renfrew Timberwolves power plays. Almonte Thunder's offense rang up 43 shots on Renfrew Timberwolves' net.

Justin Shimizu also scored for Almonte Thunder. In addition, Almonte Thunder received assists from Brandon Mendham, who had one.
