Stittsville Royals survives Gatineau Mustangs comeback, wins 4-3

Gatineau Mustangs tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but Stittsville Royals held on for a 4-3 victory.

Stittsville Royals made the score 3-1 on a goal by Jordan Cale at 5:23 in the third period, and Gatineau Mustangs got as close as 3-2 when Joey Mazerolle scored 9:22 into the third period.

Cale and Tanner Knight provided the spark for Stittsville Royals, combining for three goals and two assists. Cale finished with two goals and one assist and Knight also notched one goal and one assist.

Stittsville Royals' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Stittsville Royals additionally got points from Knight, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Joey Laird also scored for Stittsville Royals. More assists for Stittsville Royals came via Jermy Nichols, Alex Perrault, Clay Carter, Jake Oliver, and Eric Malloy, who each chipped in one.

Gatineau Mustangs forced Stittsville Royals goalie Jason Shaw to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.
