Renfrew Timberwolves survived a determined comeback attempt by :Athens on the way to a 5-4 win.

Renfrew Timberwolves took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have :Athens storm back on a Mark Craig goal 19:32 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Scott Conroy was all over the ice for Renfrew Timberwolves, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Conroy found the back of the net 11:02 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Renfrew Timberwolves and again while 12:11 into the third to make the score 4-3 Renfrew Timberwolves.

Renfrew Timberwolves kept :Athens' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Billie made 34 saves on 39 shots.

Renfrew Timberwolves also got a goal from Matt McIntyre as well. In addition, Renfrew Timberwolves received assists from Teddy Suckow, Colin Bradbury, and Pat Dick, who contributed one a piece and Nolan Rook and Marcel Fohkens, who each chipped in two.

:Athens also got points from JP Augustine, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kurtis Keohane also scored for :Athens. More assists for :Athens came via Drew Powell, David Empey, Jason Eyre, Adam James, and Greg Heika, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Schroeder rejected 24 shots on goal for Renfrew Timberwolves. Renfrew Timberwolves incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. :Athens totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For :Athens, Cameron Stewart and Anthony Meehan were ejected from the contest.
