Arnprior Packers survived a determined comeback attempt by Shawville Pontiacs on the way to a 5-3 win.

Arnprior Packers took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have Shawville Pontiacs storm back on a Gilmour Maurice goal 19:00 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

John McLean had two goals to lead Arnprior Packers to victory. McLean found the back of the net 5:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arnprior Packers and again while 5:33 into the first to make the score 2-0 Arnprior Packers.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:40 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Arnprior Packers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Arnprior Packers forced Shawville Pontiacs goalie Trevor McGee to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Arnprior Packers also got points from Mitch Crozier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Arnprior Packers also got a goal from Patrick McGrath as well. More assists for Arnprior Packers came via James Prebble, Mike MacKenzie, and Christopher Marchand, who each chipped in one and Marc Shanks, Michael McGrath, and Damian Armstrong, who contributed two a piece.

Shawville Pontiacs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Arnprior Packers to score on any of its five power plays. Shawville Pontiacs' offense rang up 34 shots on Arnprior Packers' net.

Shawville Pontiacs was helped by Lucas Driscoll-McKinnon, who registered one goal. Driscoll-McKinnon scored 11:03 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Arnprior Packers. Maurice picked up the assist. Shawville Pontiacs additionally got points from Maurice, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brady Trudeau also scored for Shawville Pontiacs. In addition, Shawville Pontiacs received assists from Dylan Scott and Guillaume Coovi-Sirois, who each chipped in one.

Erik Miksik made 31 saves for Arnprior Packers on 34 shots. Arnprior Packers ended with 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors. For Arnprior Packers, MacKenzie and Marchand were ejected from the contest. Shawville Pontiacs' McGee stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Shawville Pontiacs ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and three majors. Team's Julian Dumont, Etienne Tremblay-Fortin, and McGee were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
