Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Almonte Thunder defeated Renfrew Timberwolves in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.Almonte Thunder came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Almonte Thunder trailed 3-2 after a goal by Renfrew Timberwolves' Kurtis Leclaire at 2:32 in the third period. Almonte Thunder knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Liam Killeen at 6:20 in the third period. Almonte Thunder stifled Renfrew Timberwolves' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Almonte Thunder forced Renfrew Timberwolves goalie Matt Gagne to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Almonte Thunder was helped by Eric Langford, who grabbed one goal.
