Blenheim downs Amherstburg, 4-1

Tyler Boughner tallied two points to lead the Blenheim Blades to a 4-1 victory over the Amherstburg Admirals.

Amherstburg was unable to stop Blenheim from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Blenheim additionally got points from Derek Muzzatti, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Justin Rossignol also scored for Blenheim. Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were Dylan Muzzatti and Corbin Hagerman, who each chipped in one and Kirk McKillop and Cam Aitken, who contributed two a piece.

The Admirals were held below their usual level of production. Amherstburg averages 3.7 goals per game.

The Admirals were led by Dan Matoski, who scored the team's only goal. Matoski scored on the power play 10:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amherstburg. Amherstburg had taken the advantage when Blenheim's McKillop got sent off for roughing after whistle. Tyler Lawrence provided the assist.

Justin Pratt recorded 23 saves for the Blades. Blenheim incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Klinton Kenney made 28 saves for the Admirals on 32 shots. Amherstburg incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
