Crowley's big game bests Port Hope in 6-1 Campbellford win

Behind a great game by Ryan Crowley, who had one goal and two assists, the Campbellford Rebels defeated the Port Hope Panthers, 6-1.

Crowley got on the board by slotting home a goal 17:08 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Campbellford. Cole Hamilton picked up the assist. Crowley dished an assist on TJ Paterson (APM)'s goal that made the score 5-0 Campbellford at 7:32 into the third period. He added another helper on Paterson (APM)'s goal that made the score 6-1 Campbellford at 19:02 into the third period.

Campbellford made Panthers' goaltenders to work between the pipes, firing 57 shots and forcing 51 saves. Josh Cole made 44 stops and Branson Schell made seven. The Rebels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Port Hope power plays.

Campbellford also got a goal from Jordan Boutilier as well. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Grant Fry, who had one.

Port Hope did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Panthers average 3.6 goals per game. Port Hope struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 26 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Jared Boomhower also scored for Port Hope. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Dylan Baxter and Tyler Davey, who contributed one a piece.

Cole Mahoney rejected 23 shots on goal for Campbellford. The Rebels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Panthers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mitch Buurkitt was ejected from the game.
