Napanee outlasts Amherstview, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Napanee Raiders escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Amherstview Jets.

Napanee gained the winning advantage on a goal by Keenan Murray 6:58 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Raiders' penalty kill excelled, as Napanee gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Raiders were paced by Murray, who had one goal.

Napanee was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 20 penalty minutes.

Napanee also had goals scored by Zach Knapp-Hermer, Mitch Pearce, and Austin Boulard, who each put in one. More assists for Napanee came via Jake Falcao, who had one and Evan Brown, who had two.

Amherstview's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Jets finished with 20 penalty minutes.

Amherstview was helped by Cassidy Bruni, who tallied one goal. Bruni scored 17:19 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Napanee. Andrew Fullerton provided the assist. Amherstview also got points from Fullerton, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Jaylon Gorman and Brett Yake, who each chipped in one.

Kyle Copeland rejected 28 shots on goal for the Raiders. Napanee registered one goal on six power play opportunities. James DAndrea recorded 20 saves for the Jets.
