Huge game by Boulard boosts Napanee over Port Hope, 8-2Strathcona Paper Tue, Jan 07, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Napanee Raiders' Austin Boulard had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-2 win over the Port Hope Panthers. Boulard found the back of the net 14:02 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Napanee and again while 15:35 into the second to make the score 5-2 Napanee.Napanee forced Panthers' goalies to work in net, finishing with 40 shots and forcing 32 saves. Branson Schell made 22 stops and Josh Cole made 10. The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Port Hope power plays. Napanee found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Raiders average 4.0 goals per game. Napanee additionally got points from Ryan Casselman, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Tyler Romain, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Napanee included Bud Norris, who had two and Kyle Murphy and Zach Knapp-Hermer, who each put in one. In addition, Napanee received assists from Mitch Pearce, who had one and Chris Doyle, Joel Ferland, Blade Grigg, and Jake Falcao, who contributed two a piece. Port Hope was led by Mike Smith, who registered one goal. Smith scored 10:45 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Napanee. Mitch Buurkitt picked up the assist. Port Hope also got a goal from Jacob Spicer as well. More assists for Port Hope came via Tyler Davey and Dan Lagrois, who each chipped in one. Napanee's Josh Lasher stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Panthers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
