Campbellford survives penalties, beats Amherstview, 6-3

The Amherstview Jets failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Campbellford Rebels shook off a number of penalties to win, 6-3.

Campbellford was paced by TJ Paterson (APM), who registered one goal. Paterson (APM) scored 11:51 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Campbellford. Nick Ferguson provided the assist.

The Rebels' offense rang up 33 shots on Amherstview's net.

Campbellford also got points from Andy Paul, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Jordan Boutilier, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and jeremy dorghty, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Campbellford included Cole Hamilton and Griffin Rupnow, who each put in one. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Kenny Turcotte, Brad Jacklin, Matt Laidley, Kevin Valdas, Mitchell Merry, and Grant Fry, who each chipped in one.

The Jets kept Campbellford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Valdas made 33 saves on 36 shots. The defensemen of Amherstview were also effective in the Rebels' zone, and came away with two goals.

The Jets were helped by Dustin Kennedy, who finished with one goal. Kennedy scored 15:02 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Campbellford. Amherstview also had goals scored by Ben Bianco and Andrew Fullerton, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstview were Zach Masterson and Josh Leblanc, who contributed two a piece.

Campbellford incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Troy Paquette made 27 saves for Amherstview on 33 shots. The Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
