Sullivan leads Port Hope over Napanee, 8-2

Kyle Sullivan had two goals and one assist to lead the Port Hope Panthers to an 8-2 victory over the Napanee Raiders.

Sullivan found the back of the net on the power play 8:47 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Port Hope and again while 12:58 into the third to make the score 8-2 Port Hope.

Port Hope surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Panthers have scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Port Hope were also effective in Napanee's zone, and came away with two goals.

Port Hope additionally got points from Tyler Davey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Dan Lagrois, who also racked up two goals and one assist, and Ryan Wilkinson, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Mike Smith also scored for Port Hope. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Chandler Gillespie, who had four, Riley Turland, Dylan Baxter, Tanner Bowditch, and Scott Ferguson, who each chipped in one, and Matt Trudel and Jacob Spicer, who contributed two a piece.

The Panthers' defense shut down the Raiders' forwards for much of the game, and Napanee got off only 13 shots during the contest.

The Raiders were helped by Josh Murphy APM, who tallied one goal. Murphy APM scored short handed 17:42 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Port Hope. Napanee was on a disadvantage when Kyle Murphy went off the ice for hooking. Jake Falcao assisted on the tally. Napanee also got a goal from Keenan Murray as well. More assists for Napanee came via Ryan Casselman, who had one.

Branson Schell made 11 saves for Port Hope on 13 shots. The Panthers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Raiders' Kyle Copeland stopped 18 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Napanee incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
