Picton blows out Campbellford, 4-0Campbellford-Seymour CC Fri, Dec 06, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Picton Pirates were firing on all cylinders against the Campbellford Rebels, and when the final buzzer sounded Pirates emerged with a 4-0 win. Evan Greer was all over the ice for Picton, as he had two goals in the win. Greer found the back of the net 4:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Picton and again while 12:06 into the first to make the score 3-0 Picton. The Pirates' penalty kill excelled, as Picton gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Pirates stifled Campbellford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Picton also had goals scored by Devin McCann and Griffin McCarty, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Picton were Brandon Peever, who had three and Jack Davison, Taylor Brown, Ryan Sizer, and Chris Jones, who contributed one a piece. The Rebels put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Picton to score on any of its six power plays. Campbellford did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Rebels put an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game. The Pirates' Adam Wood stopped 21 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Picton incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Cole Mahoney took the loss and made three saves before being replaced by Kevin Valdas who made 20 saves. Campbellford incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
