Napanee survives Campbellford comeback, wins 3-2

The Campbellford Rebels tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Napanee Raiders would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Bud Norris put Napanee up 3-1 in the third period, but Campbellford pulled to within one on Cole Hamilton's tally 18:18 into the third period.

Austin Boulard had a great game for the Raiders, netting two goals. Boulard found the back of the net 10:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Napanee and again while on the power play 16:29 into the second to make the score 2-0 Napanee.

Napanee forced the Rebels goalie Kevin Valdas to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Raiders' penalty kill unit could not stop Campbellford's power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

In addition, Napanee received assists from Ryan Casselman, Jordan Cannons, Mitch Pearce, and Will Peirson, who contributed one a piece.

The Rebels' offense rang up 35 shots on Napanee's net.

Campbellford was led by jeremy dorghty, who racked up one goal and one assist. Dorghty scored on the power play 2:09 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Napanee. The Rebels earned a power play opportunity when Cannons was put in the box for hooking. Grant Fry picked up the assist. More assists for Campbellford came via Ryan Crowley, who had one.

Kyle Copeland made 33 saves for the Raiders on 35 shots. Napanee incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Valdas recorded 31 saves for Campbellford. The Rebels incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
