Port Hope rolls over Napanee, 5-2Strathcona Paper Tue, Nov 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Hope Panthers were firing on all cylinders against the Napanee Raiders, and when the final buzzer sounded Panthers emerged with a 5-2 win. Port Hope pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 28 penalty minutes. The Panthers' offense rang up 45 shots on Napanee's net. Port Hope was led by Dan Lagrois, who grabbed two goals. Lagrois scored the first of his two goals at 13:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Port Hope. Tyler Davey provided the assist. Lagrois' next tally made the score 4-1 Port Hope with 8:45 left in the third period. Mike Smith assisted on the tally. Port Hope additionally got points from Dylan Baxter, who also had one goal and one assist and Davey, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Tanner Bowditch also scored for Port Hope. More assists for Port Hope came via Kyle Sullivan, who had two and Nick Jobb, Jacob Spicer, and Josh Fulford, who contributed one a piece. The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Port Hope power plays. Napanee kept the Panthers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Branson Schell made 30 saves on 32 shots. The Raiders were helped by Zach Knapp-Hermer, who finished with one goal. Knapp-Hermer scored 3:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Port Hope. Austin Boulard picked up the assist. Napanee also got a goal from Chris Doyle as well. Other players who recorded assists for Napanee were Pascal DiRocco, who had one and Tyler Romain, who had two. Kyle Copeland recorded 40 saves for Napanee. The Raiders incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
