Port Hope outlasts Napanee, 4-3

The Port Hope Panthers and the Napanee Raiders were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Port Hope made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

The Panthers gained the winning advantage on a goal by Tanner Bowditch 14:27 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Jacob Spicer was all over the ice for Port Hope, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Spicer scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Panthers had gained a power play chance when Austin Boulard was whistled for high sticking. Kyle Sullivan picked up the assist. Spicer's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Port Hope with 8:49 left in the first period. Brandon Durst assisted on the tally.

Port Hope's penalty kill excelled, as the Panthers gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Port Hope could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Port Hope also got a goal from Tyler Davey as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were chris roy, who had one.

Napanee was led by Ryan Casselman, who grabbed three goals. In addition, Napanee received assists from Josh St.Peter, Tyler Romain, and Jake Falcao, who contributed one a piece.

Branson Schell recorded 25 saves for the Panthers. Port Hope registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Raiders' Josh Lasher stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Napanee incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
