Napanee's Romain deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Port Hope

Tyler Romain was all over the ice for the Napanee Raiders, as he tallied two goals in Napanee's 4-1 win over the Port Hope Panthers.

Romain scored at 11:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Napanee and again while on the power play 14:02 into the second to make the score 2-0 Napanee.

Port Hope was stymied by the Raiders netminder Josh Lasher, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. The solid play of Lasher will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.9.

The Napanee penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game the Raiders had been spending in the box. Napanee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Raiders' offense rang up 34 shots on the Panthers' net.

Napanee also got a goal from Alex Leclerc as well. More assists for Napanee came via Andre Frappier, Bud Norris, Kyle Murphy, Pascal DiRocco, Blade Grigg, Austin Boulard, Jake Falcao, and Josh Murphy APM, who each chipped in one.

Port Hope was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The Panthers had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. Napanee was unable to stop Port Hope from sending pucks towards the net, and the Panthers eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

The Raiders registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Napanee ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Murphy was ejected from the game. Branson Schell recorded 30 saves for Port Hope. For the Panthers, chris roy was ejected from the game.
