Port Hope outlasts Campbellford, 4-2Empire Jr. C Fri, Oct 11, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Port Hope Panthers and the Campbellford Rebels was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Port Hope emerged with a 4-2 win. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Dan Lagrois's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Lagrois was all over the ice for the Panthers, as he had two goals in the win. Port Hope's penalty kill excelled, as the Panthers gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. Port Hope additionally got points from Dylan Baxter, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Port Hope also got a goal from Connor Turland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Tyler Davey, who had one and Kyle Sullivan and Jacob Spicer, who each chipped in two. Campbellford did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Rebels average 4.3 goals per game. Campbellford was helped by Griffin Rupnow, who finished with one goal. Rupnow scored 14:32 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jordan Boutilier picked up the assist. Campbellford also got points from TJ Paterson (APM), who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Campbellford came via Ryan Crowley, who had one. Branson Schell made 28 saves for Port Hope on 30 shots. The Panthers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Rebels' Cole Mahoney stopped 19 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Campbellford incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
