Port Hope rips Deseronto, 11-2

The Port Hope Panthers had an eight-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 11-2 win over the Deseronto Storm.

Dan Lagrois was all over the ice for Port Hope, as he tallied two goals and three assists in the win. Lagrois scored the first of his two goals at 19:02 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Port Hope. Andrew Oelkers provided the assist. Lagrois' next tally made the score 5-0 Port Hope with 9:31 left in the second period. Dylan Baxter assisted on the tally.

The Panthers forced Storm's goalies to work in net, firing 67 shots and forcing 56 saves. Shaun Hadley made 21 stops and Brock Tufts made 35. Port Hope put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Deseronto to score on any of its four power plays. The Panthers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Port Hope has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Port Hope additionally got points from Kyle Sullivan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Jacob Spicer, who also had three goals and three assists to lead the team in points, and Chandler Gillespie, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Port Hope also had goals scored by Mike Smith, who had one and Nick Jobb, who had three. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Tyler Davey, who had three and Matt Trudel and Connor Turland, who each chipped in one.

The Storm were led by Noah Sager, who registered one goal and one assist. Sager scored 16:05 into the third period to make the score 11-2 Port Hope. Tyson OToole provided the assist. nick ferguson also scored for Deseronto. In addition, Deseronto received assists from Chris Rogalsky and Jared Boomhower, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Lovelys rejected 20 shots on goal for the Panthers. Port Hope incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Deseronto incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Storm, Mitch Goodfellow was ejected from the game.
