Napanee blows out Deseronto, 10-1

The Deseronto Storm had trouble finding ways to stop the Napanee Raiders, which beat Storm, 10-1.

Napanee was paced by Ryan Casselman, who registered one goal and one assist. Casselman scored 11:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Napanee. Tyler Romain provided the assist.

The Raiders put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Deseronto to score on any of its five power plays. Napanee kept the Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brock Tufts made 67 saves on 77 shots. The Raiders found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Napanee averages 4.3 goals per game.

Napanee additionally got points from Keenan Murray, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Evan Brown, who also had one goal and one assist, Zach Knapp-Hermer, who also finished with two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, Romain, who also racked up two goals and one assist, and Jordan Cannons, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Napanee also had goals scored by Jake Falcao and Chad McCutcheon, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Napanee were Chris Doyle, Mason Conley, Mitch Pearce, and Will Peirson, who contributed one a piece and Bud Norris and Austin Boulard, who each chipped in two.

Deseronto excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Josh Lasher made 11 saves before being replaced by Kyle Copeland, who took the win and made 13 saves. The Raiders incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Storm incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Deseronto ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Riley Muise was ejected from the game.
