Picton survives Napanee comeback, wins 5-3

The Picton Pirates, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Picton and clinched a 5-3 victory.

The Pirates led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Picton's Brian Bunnett's scored at 5:05 in the second period to put the Pirates up 3-0.

Picton was led by Chris Jones, who registered one goal and one assist. Jones scored 9:34 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Picton. Evan Greer picked up the assist.

The Napanee Raiders were unable to stop the Pirates from sending pucks towards the net, and Picton eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Picton additionally got points from Jack Davison, who also had one goal and two assists, Bunnett, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Greer, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Ryan Sizer, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Picton received assists from Geoff Cleminson, who had one.

Napanee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Raiders forced the Pirates goalie Andrew Pearson to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Pearson recorded 29 saves for Picton. The Pirates incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Napanee's Kyle Copeland stopped 35 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
