Napanee outlasts Campbellford, 5-3Campbellford-Seymour CC Sat, Jan 18, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Napanee Raiders and the Campbellford Rebels was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Napanee emerged with a 5-3 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Tyler Romain secured the win for the Raiders with a goal in the third period. Romain had a great game for Napanee, netting two goals. The Raiders kept Campbellford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Mahoney made 39 saves on 44 shots. Napanee took advantage of the Rebels' penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. Alex Leclerc also scored for Napanee. In addition, Napanee received assists from Bud Norris, Murray Keenan, Austin Boulard, Jake Falcao, and Will Peirson, who each chipped in one. The Raiders were unable to stop Campbellford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rebels eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Campbellford got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The Rebels were helped by jeremy dorghty, who grabbed one goal. Dorghty scored 9:56 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Napanee. Joshua Leavey picked up the assist. Others who scored for Campbellford included Andrew Doxtator and Grant Fry, who scored one goal each. More assists for Campbellford came via Reilly McGuire, Cole Hamilton, and Griffin Rupnow, who contributed one a piece. Kyle Copeland recorded 30 saves for Napanee. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Campbellford incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
