Picton blows out Amherstview, 5-1WJ Henderson Rec. Centre Sat, Nov 23, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Amherstview Jets had trouble finding ways to stop the Picton Pirates, which beat Jets, 5-1. Picton was led by Chris Jones, who racked up one goal. Jones scored 13:30 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Picton. Clint Aussprung provided the assist. The Pirates stifled Amherstview's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Picton kept the Jets' goalie busy throughout the game, and Trpy Paquette made 53 saves on 58 shots. Picton additionally got points from Brian Bunnett, who also registered one goal and one assist. Picton also had goals scored by Jack Davison, Evan Greer, and Griffin McCarty, who each put in one. More assists for Picton came via Nolan Powers, Corey Prince, and Ryan Sizer, who each chipped in one and Steven Clarke and Kenny Murduff, who contributed two a piece. Amherstview did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Jets put an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Amherstview was led by Zach Masterson, who scored the team's only goal. Masterson scored 6:03 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Picton. Cody Jodoin picked up the assist. Adam Wood recorded 20 saves for the Pirates. Picton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
