Picton rolls over Deseronto, 12-0Prince Edward Thu, Nov 21, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Picton Pirates had an eight-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 12-0 win over the Deseronto Storm. Picton forced Storm's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 57 shots and forcing 45 saves. Matt Lovelys made 36 stops and Brock Tufts made nine. The Pirates bested their season scoring average. Picton averages 5.6 goals per game. The Pirates were helped by Brian Bunnett, who had two goals and one assist. Bunnett scored the first of his two goals at 2:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Picton. Ryan Sizer picked up the assist. Bunnett's next tally made the score 12-0 Picton with 7:44 left in the third period. Taylor Brown provided the assist. Picton additionally got points from Nolan Van Vlack, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Jack Davison, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Kenny Murduff, who also registered one goal and one assist, Evan Greer, who also had one goal and two assists, and Sizer, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Picton also had goals scored by Clint Aussprung, who had two and Cody Harrison and Corey Prince, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Picton were Devin McCann, who had three and Nolan Powers, Steve Clarke, Brandon Peever, and Chris Jones, who each chipped in two. Deseronto could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Storm put an average of 2.1 pucks into the net per game. Adam Wood made 15 saves for Picton on 15 shots. The Pirates incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Deseronto incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
