Napanee holds on for 3-2 win against Amherstview

The Amherstview Jets tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Napanee Raiders held on for a 3-2 victory.

Napanee took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have Amherstview storm back on a Cody Stapley goal 18:34 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Jets were unable to stop Napanee from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Napanee was led by Tyler Romain, who racked up one goal and one assist. Romain scored 1:53 into the third period to make the score Napanee. Austin Boulard provided the assist. Zach Knapp-Hermer also scored for Napanee.

Amherstview's offense operated below it season average. The Jets put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game.

Amherstview also got a goal from Jaylon Gorman as well. In addition, Amherstview received assists from Ben Bianco, Andrew Fullerton, Cassidy Bruni, and Dustin Kennedy, who each chipped in one.

Josh Lasher rejected 19 shots on goal for the Raiders. Napanee incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Trpy Paquette recorded 34 saves for Amherstview. The Jets incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
