Huge game by Sizer boosts Picton over Amherstview, 7-3Prince Edward Thu, Oct 31, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Picton Pirates' Ryan Sizer had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-3 win over the Amherstview Jets. Sizer got on the scoresheet 9:27 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:51 into the second, at 8:26 into the second, and at 14:17 into the second.Picton put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Amherstview to score on any of its four power plays. The Pirates forced the Jets goalie Trpy Paquette to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots. Picton also got points from Jack Davison, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Brian Bunnett, who also finished with one goal and three assists, and Chris Jones, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Picton were Brandon Peever, who had two and Calum Kennelly and Kenny Murduff, who contributed one a piece. Amherstview's offense rang up 34 shots on Picton's net. The Jets were helped by Cassidy Bruni, who had one goal. Bruni scored 4:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amherstview. Cody Stapley provided the assist. Matt Horton also scored for Amherstview. Andrew Pearson rejected 31 shots on goal for the Pirates. Picton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Amherstview's Paquette stopped 46 shots out of the 53 that he faced. The Jets incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
